Building a Form
Steps, fields, and the order they are asked in.
Creating one
Go to Account → Flows → Forms and press New Form. You get an untitled form with one step, ready to edit.
Naming it
The name is what you will see in your own list and what appears at the top of the form. Name it for the job — “Quote Request”, “New Client Intake” — not “Form 2”.
Steps
Each step is one screen. Give it a title and, if it helps, a short description explaining why you are asking.
Group by subject, not by count: contact details on one step, the details of the job on another, anything optional last. Someone who abandons on the last step has still given you the useful part.
Adding fields
Add fields to a step and set:
- Title — the label the person reads.
- Type — what kind of answer it takes. See the next page.
- Width — how much of the row the field occupies, so two short fields can sit side by side.
- Required — whether it blocks submission.
- Helper text — a short hint under the field.
Ordering
Ask the easy things first. Name and email before budget and timeline. Momentum matters more than logic here — someone who has answered two questions is far more likely to answer the third.
Publishing
A form has an Active state and a public/private setting. Switch it live when you are ready, and use the View action to see exactly what a visitor sees before you share it.
Fill in your own form on a phone before you share it. Problems that are invisible on a laptop — a label that wraps badly, a keyboard covering the submit button — show up immediately.
